I made "Seahorse" for a "blue and pink" printmaking challenge. It's a jigsaw print, meaning I cut the seahorse out of the linoleum so that I could ink it up separately from the ocean background. Pink and blue are colors that are strongly associated with gender, so I decided to make a gay little seahorse. Seahorses are bisexual, and the males carry the eggs until they're ready to hatch. Nature is queer, and seahorses don't care about human-made gender roles. Available in blue & pink, and black.
Material: Oil based ink on Jack Richeson Printmaking Paper.
Paper size: 9"x12"
