Join me at Saltgrass Printmakers on Saturday, May 2nd to participate in a drop in mini linocut workshop between 2-4 pm. We will be carving small blocks and combining them to create unique 5” x 7” images. This workshop is taking place during an artist’s reception. Details below.

Since January, Saltgrass Printmakers has hosted two extended printmaking courses—intermediate etching and monotypes. Gestures Large & Small celebrates the work created by these talented printmakers over the past months.

Join us on Saturday, May 2 to view their artwork and take part in some hands-on creative fun of your own!

At 2 PM, enjoy a mini relief stamp demonstration with Alex Lines. During the reception, you’re invited to carve your own small relief block—we’ll combine everyone’s pieces into a collaborative print for you to take home.

All materials and tools are provided. We’d love to see you there!

Fundamentals of Linocut Printmaking with Alex Lines

Learn the fundamentals of linocut printmaking in this 5 week class. The class will include an introduction to tools and materials, printing methods, creating texture, shading & values, and printing with color. All participants will have the opportunity to carve and print multiple blocks over the course of the class. Participants will have plenty of self directed time at the presses. We might even get to some advance techniques.

Dates: Wednesday evenings June 3, 10, 17, 24 & July 1, 2026

Times: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
